ardour3 software package provides transitional dummy package for ardour, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ardour3
ardour3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ardour3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ardour3 *
You will get with ardour3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
